Scholarship Application

Michelle's Place offers a total of 4 annual scholarships, 2 each for the Patricia Deroeux Scholarship ($2,000) and the Michelle's Place Scholarship ($1,000) for a total of $6,000 annually.  The following guidelines and requirements have been established for awarding the scholarships.

Application Period
The application period for both the Patricia Deroeux and Michelle's Place scholarships is from January 1st to February 28th each year. This application will be available during that time window.

Specific Scholarship Requirements

  Patricia Deroeux Scholarshp Michelle's Place Scholarship
Description Michelle’s Place, Cancer Resource Center offers the Patricia Deroeux Scholarship on behalf of the Temecula Chamber of Commerce to selected individuals in the City of Temecula who are in need of financial assistance for educational purposes and is a child of a parent who died as the result of cancer

Michelle’s Place, Cancer Resource Center offers the Scholarship on behalf of the Temecula Valley Women’s Club to selected individuals in the County of Riverside who are in need of financial assistance for educational purposes and is a person affected by cancer.

Awards

Michelle’s Place will select applications to be recommended to the Executive Board of the Board of Directors of Temecula Chamber of Commerce (TVCC) for final approval. The TVCC will award two (2) scholarships annually, in the amount of two thousand dollars ($2,000.00 each). The award recipients will be announced by April 30th.

A committee within Michelle’s Place will select applications to be recommended to the Executive Board of Michelle’s Place.  They will award two (2) scholarships annually, in the amount of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00 each). The award recipients will be announced by April 30th.


 
Award Criteria - The candidate must be in need of financial assistance due to the death of a parent as the result of cancer.
- The candidate must be under the age of 25.
- The candidate must maintain his or her permanent residence in the City of Temecula.
- The candidate must be a full-time student.
- The candidate must be in need of financial assistance.
- The candidate must be affected by cancer, either personally or through a family member.
- The candidate must be seeking assistance to continue their education in a college or trade school.

Application Process

The scholarship application process consists of 3 steps:

  1. Complete the entire form and submit your application.
  2. Once you have submitted the application an email will be sent to you with a summary of your submission as well as a link to download the Scholarship Program Supplemental Information form. Complete this form with as much information as possible and use extra pages if necessary. (The Scholarship Program Supplemental Information for can be filled in electronically or printed and filled out by hand).
  3. Once you have completed the Scholarship Program Supplemental Information form, email it back to Michelle's Place at [email protected] or drop it off at Michelle's Place.
